Smith River

Before Bassett Furniture became a name in every American home, there was the river. Smith River ran through the heart of Henry County, Virginia, powering the mills, sustaining the factories, giving the workers a place to breathe between shifts. When Bassett Furniture was founded in 1902, this river was part of what made it possible. My great-grandmother lived just down the road. The workers walked its banks. The water moved whether anyone was watching or not. Smith River opens with bergamot's bright, sun-warmed freshness, lemon and sage add a clean and grounded heart, and sandalwood settles in like still water catching afternoon light. Patchouli essential oil finishes with a soft, earthy musk, rooted, quiet, and alive. A scent that remembers the hands that built something lasting.
